Earn your online Certificate in Effective Strategies for Coping with Autism and learn directly from an autistic adult. Teachers and learning professionals earn professional development credits to continue your education certificates in partnership with Brandman University. One of the essential benefits of this program is that you learn directly from an autistic adult.

James Link is an adult with autism. He was diagnosed with autism by two different professionals and is one of 17% of the adult autistic population who lives on his own in an apartment with his two therapy dogs, Trapper and Chloe. He contributes to the facilitation of the courses along with his mother, Dr. Sharon Link-Wyer. He offers insights, suggestions, tips, and advice from his experience living with autism. He knows the difficulties of living with a disability and shares challenges he faced in childhood and obstacles he still faces - including not being hired for employment despite numerous attempts. Discrimination in the workplace runs rampant for individuals with disabilities.

To complete the Certificate, you need to take five courses. There are six to choose from. 

1. Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders
2. How to Cope with Autism in School
3. Behavioral Supports for Children with Autism
4. Social Supports for Children with Autism
5. Transitioning Teens with Autism to Adulthood
6. Living with Autism as an Adult
7. Autism Across the Lifespan

Each course is 3 graduate-level semester credits and lasts 8 weeks. At $500/per course, you learn the content, meet weekly via GoToMeeting with the course facilitators, read the customized materials, and access content that is going to help you TODAY with the students in your classroom.
